“Facebook will now let you know if a government has hacked into your account” is a BuzzFeed News story, on October 21sr. It is on the topic of social media, and the chief security allowing users to become aware of what they think may be government-sponsored attacks.

Facebook, the popular social media site, will now alert users to attempts made by the government to compromise their personal accounts. The networks chief security officer made this announcement on their website. At this time, Intelligence Agencies are equity to access metadata, legally. Some Civil Liberty Groups believe that this is an infringement of privacy. “It is unclear whether Facebooks would be able to notify users if it detected that an individual’s account was compromised in this way,” BuzzFeed News said.

This impacts me personally but just in the feeling of safety. I’d rather say this makes me feel unsafe rather than safe. I do not have a Facebook account, but just the fact that the governmental surveillance is so high, that social media can realize it strikes fear. I feel that this is domestic surveillance and it should be curtailed. There could be an argument on whether it keeps us safe or not. I would say that the government should seize surveillance as it can reap havoc and instill fear.

This affects the world , due to governmental surveillance everywhere. As well as social media being world wide. I have a belief that this causes fear to all. Some may look at this as a way to have safety, but Facebook is going the right actions, while governmental surveillance is wrong, unless the patron is involved in terrorism or has allegations of illegal or fatal activities.

“Second grade is starting on Wednesday. They assign homework in second grade, so I’m a little worried about that. Also the teachers don’t help you as much. They might see that you are spelling a word wrong, and they’ll let you spell it wrong without even telling you. They’re not being mean. They just want to push you. Not actually push you. But push you to spell better. And I’m pretty sure we’re going to be learning about Native Americans. Because I walked by a second grade class last year and everyone was on the floor making Native American stuff out of clay.”

This Human of New York is my favorite. This speaks volumes to me, because I so much can relate to this little boy, in my past. I was so thrilled to go to the 2nd Grade, and this is where I met my favorite teacher. I’ve always found excitement in spelling, and I love that he is so enthralled in the fact that 2nd grade is such a huge deal. I honestly do think it is a big step, an introduction to new excitement, and a realization that growing up comes with hardships. Meaning, that individuals and superiors will not always help you out. You’re expected to fix issues on your own.

“Netflix raises monthly price $1 to $9.99” is an article on CNN Money on October 8th. The article covers the reasons for the higher price of the network.
Netflix, the popular streaming TV service, is increasing the cost of their standard monthly plan from $8.99 to $9.99. Investors were excited about this, though some customers were not. Before learning of the new alterations of the price, Netflix stock was down. Post-announcement the stock raised up more than 6%.
I feel excited about this. Netflix may be raising their prices by $1 a month, but they will be expanding, therefore I think it is worth it. I enjoy Netflix and it’s a great source of relaxation, and it’s a chance to catch up on my favorite shows, and also start to watch new and different shows.
The dollar raise will affect new subscribers in the US, Latin America, and Canada, immediately. This will not affect a majority of existing subscribers. Netflix is a worldwide enjoyed network. I believe that it’s an all around source of greatness to everyone. Though Netflix can be consuming, majority enjoy it.

On February 1st, a breach in the system proved the school’s system had been hacked. Installation of a new security system caused the three-week shutdown. A request to rent computers for the class to finish the assignment, has been made. The school board will decide Friday, the 6th.

Because of this incident, classes were affected. The journalism class has a 48-page final deadline on February 27th.

” It’s great that the school board is moving so quickly on this request.” said Rodney Stephens, yearbook adviser, “I know it will be somewhat costly for the district..”

MacWorld agreed to rent the computers out for $500 for the three weeks.

“We would risk not getting the book back before school ended. That would essentially kill an important tradition to the school.” Stephens said.

“Yearbook Day” consists of a senior signing party, that takes place the day that the yearbooks arrive on campus. All seniors get released from class at noon to attend the party in the gym.

“Yearbook Day is one of the highlights of Senior year.” said senior, Reggie White.

All the seniors enjoy this tradition, and the principal expects to carry it on.

“Yearbook Day for Seniors is one of the most beloved traditions at the school,” Stephens
said.

“Baby born without a complete skull defies the odds,” is an article published on CNN news, dated October 2, 2015.
The article about this baby is on topic of health, and the journey of his life with his diagnosis that has no known cure at this time.
Jaxon Buell, born without a big part of his skull and brain, was not expected by doctors to live more than a few weeks. Defying the odds, Jacob just recently celebrated his first birthday. Buell’s parents learned of the concerns for their baby when they had a 17-week ultrasound. The couple went forward with the pregnancy rather than choosing abortion. After months and months of tests to see what may be wrong, and a few misdiagnoses, the family learned that Jax has Micro Hydranencephaly, which has no cure.
This event doesn’t affect me physically, but rather mentally. I think this would trigger caring emotions for anyone that may indulge in this story. I feel a sense of sadness, but also joy got the life of this little human. With this generation’s technological abilities, I believe that perhaps a cure should be further looked into. This event, though brings sadness , also brings hope. This baby, smaller than both you and me fought against all odds and continues to, and leads a life, not much different than other kids his age.
CNN says, “The parents know Jaxon will need a miracle in the long term, but are taking each day as it comes and relying on faith to help them through.” This brings a sense of hope for anyone in the world that may have this happen to their child in the future. Possibilities of world impact rely on treatments being looked for, also not yet found. Many people refrain from realizing that this is a possibility for anyone , and often take for granted the blessings that they do have in life, frequently including being the cause of a human life; having their own child. I comprehend that this should be more important to individuals everywhere, and a cure should be further looked for.

On Monday, September 28, headlines on Time News are reading, “Early stage breast cancer may not require chemo.”
In topicality, this is categorized as a health matter, and shows the results of a long anticipated study, in which verifies that tumors might respond to drug therapy by itself.
Researchers have recently reported that there is a sufficient amount of backed up evidence that shows hormone-based anti-tumor drugs may be the answer to a longer life and a chance at a cancer free life for some women.
The fundamental acknowledgment to finding these women lies in a test based on genes, named OncotypeDX, that scans 21 genes in a tumor that makes a portfolio of the tumors features and it strengths and weaknesses. Studies, recently up to date, have tested OncotypeDX’s estimated capabilities using samples of tumors. There has been trials designed to test a random women to participate in therapy without chemotherapy, in order to collect findings of the risk of recurrence after five years.
The trial, the Trail Assigning Individualized Options for Treatment, or (TailorX) comprised 10,253 women diagnosed with breast cancer made it noticeable as to whether the tumors responded to the hormone therapy. About 16% of the woman tested in the study responded and did remarkably well. With a 99% survival rate they had less than a 2% chance of reoccurrence at all.
This affects me because people in my family have been diagnosed with breast cancer . The emotional toll on the patient and their family runs high. Luckily she survived and remains free of cancer’s overpowering reins. Cancer can ruin lives and it overpowers the body, which is scary to anyone who has it or is surrounded by it.
This affects the world, because new treatments are being found. Many people rely on new treatment so that their loved ones or themselves can be cured of harsh diseases, such as cancer. I think that this is a good thing in the world because not only women, but men can get this type of cancer and with new treatments available the survival rate just crawls higher and higher.
